About the Artist

Cassy Ladner is a mixed media artist who grew up surrounded by the scenic landscapes of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. With a lifelong love of animals and the natural world, she draws inspiration from the colours, textures and details found in nature. Through her vibrant, expressive artwork, Cassy hopes to spark curiosity, create connection and bring a sense of joy and wonder.

After nearly 19 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces, Cassy's perspective has been shaped by resilience, curiosity, and an appreciation for life's meaningful moments. Those experiences continue to influence the way she approaches her art and life.

Cassy continues to create colourful, nature inspired art from her home studio, sharing her love of the natural world through expressive paintings that bring warmth, personality, and colour into everyday spaces.

Artist Statement

My work begins with moments of wonder and nature - the colours, textures, and quiet details that are easy to overlook.

Through abstract realism, acrylic and mixed media, I transform those moments into expressive wildlife and nature paintings that celebrate beauty, joy and connection.

I use bold colour, layered textures and expressive mark-making to capture how those moments feel. My hope is that each painting brings a sense of warmth, curiosity, and the natural world into the spaces where people live.

I believe art has the power to help us pause, notice beauty, and reconnect with the world around us. If one of my paintings brings a little more colour, joy or wonder into someone's everyday life, then it has done exactly what I hoped it would.
